Race brief
Getting there
- Car: about 200 km from Rotkreuz, 2h15 via Basel and the A5. Leave by 6:30 to be at the gate for 9:00.
- Train: Basel, Offenburg, Ringsheim, then bus 7231 to the gate. Roughly 3 to 3.5 hours. The SBB RailCoaster only runs on weekends.
Race rules
- VirtualLine is free and lives in the official Europa-Park app. It only works inside the park and slots go fast. It covers Voltron, Blue Fire, Wodan, Euro-Mir, Poseidon and Voletarium.
- Single rider on Blue Fire, Wodan, Voltron, Eurosat and Arthur. Riding alone means skipping most of the queue.
- Euro-Mir runs its final season and comes down this winter. Ride it.
- Medium crowds. Central Swiss cantons are on autumn break, German and French schools are not. Traumatica is not on tonight; its first nights are 9 to 11 October.
Kit
- Running shoes, not new ones. The route below is about 10 km on foot before second laps.
- Loose stuff stays off the big coasters. Phone zipped away or in a station locker; Silver Star and Blue Fire do not forgive pockets.
- Bottle and sunscreen. It climbs to about 26° by 16:00, which is why the wet rides sit in the afternoon.
